This Richfield yard had a real grade problem. Without a proper wall holding things in place, you end up with soil erosion, an uneven yard, and space that just isn't usable. That's exactly the kind of issue a well-built retaining wall solves - and that's what we set out to do here.
We built a 45-foot retaining wall using new Deca Unilock blocks and a pin system. The pin system is key - it locks each course of block together so the wall holds its shape over time, even under the pressure of soil and freeze-thaw cycles. It's not just about looks. It's about building something that stays put.
The wall also includes 3 integrated steps, which ties the upper and lower yard levels together cleanly. No awkward drop-off, no workaround. Just a smooth, functional transition that makes the whole space easier to move through and actually use.
What we like about this one is how clean the finish turned out. The Unilock blocks have a consistent color and texture that gives the wall a sharp, polished look. It holds up the yard and looks good doing it - that's the goal on every job like this.
A retaining wall done right adds real value. It stops erosion, creates usable flat space, and gives your yard a defined structure to build around. If your yard has a grade issue or you've been thinking about adding a wall, this is the kind of work that pays off for years.
