Here's what we were working with - a backyard and side yard that had seen better days. Cracked concrete slab patio, an old flat walkway that did nothing for the space, patchy grass, and no real structure anywhere in the yard. The kind of setup where you just stop using the outdoor space because it doesn't feel worth it.

We came in and pulled all of it out. From there, we laid a 550 sq. ft. paver patio and walkway system, installed 120-plus linear feet of retaining walls around the perimeter of the home, and finished everything off with fresh black dirt and overseeding to get the lawn on its way back. Each piece of this was planned to work together - not just look good on its own.

The retaining walls were a big part of making this yard functional again. They define the planting beds cleanly along the foundation, keep soil where it belongs, and give the whole property a finished, intentional look. That's the kind of detail that separates a yard that just exists from one that actually works for you.

The paver walkway running through the side yard is a great example of what good hardscaping does - it solves a problem and looks sharp doing it. Clean border pavers, solid rock installed alongside it for low-maintenance coverage, and a path that finally connects the yard the way it should. No more walking through dead grass to get from point A to point B.

Richfield has a lot of older homes with yards just like this one - good bones, but outdoor spaces that have been patched and ignored for years. We do this kind of full-yard work regularly, and the difference between before and after never gets old.
