Fresh Mulch, Clean Beds, and Landscape Lighting Done Right

Sometimes a yard just needs someone to come in and pull it all together. That's exactly what we did here - weed removal, 8 yards of fresh mulch, landscape lighting, and leveling out the granite bridge so the whole space sits right. Every piece had a purpose.

The boulder retaining wall running along the bed is one of those details that does a lot of heavy lifting. It separates the mulched planting area from the river rock below, keeps everything contained, and gives the space a natural, grounded look that holds up over time. No edging that shifts or crumbles - just solid stone doing its job.

Fresh mulch makes a bigger difference than most people expect. It cleans up the beds instantly, locks in moisture around the ornamental grasses and plantings, and cuts down on weeds coming back. We spread 8 yards across these beds, and the dark color really makes the boulders and the building pop.

Then there's the lighting. Low-profile path lights placed throughout the bed mean this space doesn't just look good during the day - it works at night too. Whether you're sitting on the porch or pulling into the driveway after dark, the landscape stays visible and polished around the clock.

The granite bridge got leveled out as part of the work. It's a small thing, but it matters. A bridge that sits uneven looks off and creates a tripping hazard. Getting it flat and stable ties the whole entrance together and makes the space feel intentional from every angle.
